General information for all directory listings
Please also read the Transcription Registry Terms of Use
- In order to list your business in the directory, you must first register at Transcription Registry. You will be sent a confirmation e-mail. When you receive it, click on the link to confirm your registration, then you may log in and add your listing. Make sure you whitelist transcriptionregistry.com so e-mail doesn’t get sent to your spam folder.
- For best results, fill in all fields completely.
- A website URL is not required. If you don’t have a website, leave this field blank.
- Your site title must be your business name and only your business name. It cannot contain extraneous keywords or descriptive text.
- Use the “logo” field to upload a logo. Logos can be up to 500 pixels wide x100 pixels high in *.jpg, *.gif or *.png format.
- A logo is not required. The logo will only display for premium and sponsored listings (for details about each type of listing see below).
- Logos, photos and graphics are allowed only in the photo field.
- Each listing is allowed inclusion in up to 3 categories. Please select the most appropriate categories. (See below for making category suggestions.)
- The amount of information included in the description field is not limited; however, for free standard listings, the full text will only display on your detail page.
- Do not include your address, phone number, etc. in the description field. These are displayed on your detail listing page.
- Links, pictures or uploaded files of any type are not allowed in the description field.
You may modify your listing by logging in and editing it. You will need the listing number, which is available on the detail page, and the password you set when you created your account. TranscriptionConnections recommends that you register as a user and create your listing. If you have already created a listing without registering as a user, you can register and claim your listing. You will need the resource ID and password, which are sent when your account is approved. To claim a listing, log in and click on the Claim Listing in the user control panel. You will be prompted for the resource ID and password of the listing you want to claim. It is easier to make changes to your listing if you are a registered user.
All new listings and modified listings are held in the moderation queue until approved. TranscriptionRegistry.com will not make changes to the listings; however, you may be notified if there are issues with your listing, and the listing will not be approved until the issues are resolved. Otherwise, new submissions and modifications are approved within 24 to 36 hours.
A thumbshot of your website (if you have one) will automatically be included in the slider, in the categories pages and your detail page. If you see a message “image coming soon” in the thumbshot for your listing, it is because Thumbshots.com has not indexed your site. Go to Thumbshots and read the FAQ for directions on how to get your website indexed. TranscriptionRegistry.com utilizes the Thumbshots free service to display these thumbshots; we do not have any relationship with Thumbshots.com or any control over what sites are indexed. If you have issues with the thumbshot, please contact them directly.
Sponsored directory listings
Sponsored directory listings are currently $25 per month, with the exception of the Medical Transcription ($40 per month) and Vendor categories ($75 per month). See the detailed tables in the pricing section below to see savings for purchasing multiple months.
The sponsored directory listings include:
- Listing display on the TranscriptionRegistry.com front page under the title “Sponsored Listings”
- Listings display with a colored background (orange gradient fade) on each page for the category in which the listing is entered
- Logo display on the category pages for each category in which the listing is entered
- Logo display on the detail page for the listing
- Logo display on the search results page
- Full text of the description field displayed on the category pages and search results, as well as the detail page.
- Listing display above premium and standard listings in all instances in which the listing appears
Premium directory listings
Premium directory listings are currently $10 per month, with the exception of the Medical Transcription ($25 per month) and Vendor ($40 per month) categories. See the detailed tables in the pricing section below to see savings for purchasing multiple months.
The premium directory listings include:
- Listing display on the TranscriptionRegistry.com front page under the title “Premium Listings”
- Listing display with a colored background (green gradient fade) on the page for each category in which the listing is entered
- Logo display on the detail page for the listing
- Full text of the description field displayed on the category pages and search results, as well as the detail page.
- Listing displayed below premium listings but above standard listings in all instances in which the listing appears
Standard directory listings
Currently, standard directory listings are free, with the exception of vendors. See the detailed tables in the pricing section below to see pricing for the Vendors category. TranscriptionConnections encourages you to take advantage of the free listings to increase your visibility on the internet.
- Standard directory listings are listed below premium and sponsored listings on the category pages and the search results
- No logo is displayed
- Includes up to three categories
Individuals and entities will only be approved for one standard listing. Multiple standard listing entries will be rejected as per the Terms of Service.
If you wish to have your business in more than three categories, you may contact us for pricing.
Vendors are defined as any company selling goods or services in addition to or other than transcription services.Vendors do not qualify for free standard listings. Standard listing for vendors is $25 per month; see the table below for multiple-month discount pricing.
How to upgrade your listing
It is advisable to register as a user at Transcription Registry and then add your site link. If you did not, you can still register as a user and then “claim” your listing. You will need the resource ID; this sent to you at the time your site listing was approved and can can also be obtained from the details page of your listing. Once you have claimed your listing, it will appear in your user control panel when you’re logged in. This will make it easier for you to make changes or upgrade the account. The following instructions assume you have claimed your listing or you were registered and logged in when you added the listing.
- Log in to your user account at Transcription Registry.
- Click on My Listings. If you have claimed your listing, your site listing will be listed.
- To upgrade, click on the Upgrade button.
- Select the type and duration of the listing upgrade.
- You can select either a one-time Paypal payment, or you can select Subscribe. The Paypal subscription system will continue to pay from your Paypal account until you cancel the subscription.
- When you click on Submit, you will be taken to the Paypal login to complete the transaction.
- Click on Upgrade a Listing.
- Enter the link (resource) ID number.
- Select the type and duration of the listing upgrade.
- You can select either a one-time Paypal payment, or you can select Subscribe. The Paypal subscription system will continue to pay from your Paypal account until you cancel the subscription.
- When you click on Submit, you will be taken to the Paypal login to complete the transaction.
How to get the most out of your listing
Entering information in all the fields is key to getting the most out of your listing.
The general search function only searches specific fields: title, keywords, URL. The Power Search searches any field where a search word or phrase is entered.
Since many users searching for services will try the general search first, it is recommended that you make sure the keywords field is completed with all the relevant keywords for your field of specialty to improve the chances of your listing being returned in the search results.
If you have a standard listing, make maximum use out of the first 250 characters in your description. On all pages except your detail page, only the first 250 characters will be displayed. This is your sales pitch, to get someone to click on the detail link or the link to your site. Make it count!
Pricing
The Medical Transcription and Vendor category rates are different from all other rates. Please see table below for rates in effect as of October 22, 2011.

TranscriptionConnections.com reserves the right to change pricing with notice. Directory participants who have purchased a long-term listing will not be charged any additional fees until the paid listing has expired.
Participants will be given a minimum of 30 days’ notice of any pricing changes.
If, at any time, the free standard listing is eliminated, participants in the standard listings will be given 30 days’ notice. Any listings that are not paid for after 30 days will be suspended.
Notice will be sent to the e-mail address for each listing. TranscriptionConnections.com is not responsible for notices not received due to address changes, expiration, or spam filtering.
Payments
We currently only accept payment via PayPal. Other payment methods will be added as necessary. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Refunds
A refund may be requested in writing by submitting a request using the contact form.
Refund will be made in full if requested within the first seven (7) calendar days after the listing has been made active. No refunds will be allowed after the seven (7) calendar days have expired.
If for any reason a refund request is made via the Paypal payment system, the listing will be suspended or deleted. TranscriptionConnections.com reserves the right to permanently ban users for abusing the Paypal refund process.
